The session will share the results of fusing the Course Contents (Graphic Design), Service-Learning, Active Learning, ACUE practices, and Career Centered Objectives to cultivate an engaging classroom community while building a connection with the non-profit community.
Audience members can expect to learn how participating in USM's Service-Learning, ACUE, and other Faculty Development seminars, courses, or activities could help them create a unique learning experience and project(s) for students. Depending on how the different pedagogies are integrated, it could generate a recipe for student learning. They will also get an opportunity to see how using these different pedagogies affected the student's design work and how it brought Sophmore-level Graphic Design classes closer to each other.
